Chapter Twenty-Two

At the door, I turned just in time to see Brooklyn shove Aiden away from her. I almost stopped and went back inside, wondering what was happening between them. But the douche I had in custody, wouldn’t stop fighting me through every step. I had to keep him under control until the cops arrived to take him and two of his buddies into custody.

As anticipated, at least one group of men would get too overzealous and women would complain. This trio had gotten into the VIP section with one woman. But when they got too handsy, the ladies of the group asked for help. By the time I was called into the situation, the three guys were getting heated with my guys.

The sneaky bastard caught me good in the face when I first walked up. It was the biggest mistake he could make, as the pain only fueled my desire to pummel him into the ground. I was in control enough to not break any bones, though the guy’s nose had been bleeding like a fountain with no stopping in sight. They would definitely need a stop at the emergency room on the way to the station.

Thirty minutes later and I had finally handed off the trouble trio and was heading back inside. I could feel the slight swelling on my cheek, but it didn’t bother me. My blood was boiling, but not in anger. Fighting, that moment of heightened adrenaline and focus, always bled into me and I had two options. Sex, or more fighting.

At that moment, there was only thing on my mind. I needed to check on Brooklyn and then I was dragging her away somewhere private. A few of my guys stopped me on my way back to the third floor. I gave quick instructions and then informed them I was going off radio for a little while.

When I reached our VIP area, Aiden was standing off to the side, staring out into the club. I approached him first to give him the update on the situation. He nodded through the story, then turned to study my face.

“You good?”

“Yeah, man. Always,” I replied.

“Well, she was pissed at me for not being more worried. She’s got quite the fight in her, huh?” He asked.

“I guess she can, when it’s something she cares about,” I replied, thoughtfully.

I thought about her pushing Aiden and being angry with him. In Aiden’s defense, he had seen me in tough places and I had always fought my way out. We had been together long enough that he knew a bar brawl was just a normal weekend night for me. However, for Brooklyn, it seemed violent and unexpected.

“I’m going home. I assume you’ll be staying with her?” Aiden asked.

I nodded and we shook hands really quick. Aiden made his way to our back stairs, without a word to Brooklyn. I made my way to the booth, only to find her staring into an empty glass.

“Hey,” I said, loud enough to catch her attention.
